NURSING HOSPITAL WORKERS FACING FUNCTIONAL READAPTATION BY ILLNESS: DIFFICULTIES EXPERIENCED AND ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN

Objectives: to know the difficulties experienced and actions undertaken by hospital nursing workers in process of functional readaptation illness. Method: this is a qualitative, descriptive exploratory study, conducted teaching Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with 16 workers, through semi-structured individual interviews. Data were collected from September November 2018, analyzed according thematic content analysis Socio-Humanist Theory theoretical framework. Results: at personal level, focused on ignorance process, adaptation new sector, financial impact, difficulty accepting condition feeling guilt uselessness labor restrictions. In organizational scope, they lack need for personnel training, overload, inadequate infrastructure collections, monitoring, monitoring institutional care. context interpersonal relationships, because not feel well received, competitive environment, team acceptance, high number attested, understanding, dialogue, empathy co-workers. The seeking help health professionals, co-workers, complementary spiritual therapies, development self-acceptance construction bonds outside work. Conclusion: permeate an internal changes life, relational challenges peers institution. search professional, other support people are important self-acceptance, management physical and/or psychic signs symptoms improvement quality life.
